Guys, I’m sorry, but I got an email from Urban Decay about this new smokey eye palette and I bought it. In a week or two I’ll get it and I’ll make you read the review. Sorry again – hope you don’t hate me for it.

Hopefully you can read the oozing with sarcasm into my note ūüėČ

Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil ‚Äď Junkie – Review May 13, 2012

Whew, almost done with my April samples – and May’s boxes are coming steadily in. ¬†Yikes!

Today I bring you the Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Junkie that I received as part of my MyGlam Bag in April.  This is a tealish green shimmer liner.  This particular color is only available in the travel set of 5 so I was super excited to get it since I otherwise would not buy the set of five and never have the chance to experience this awesome color. Now you may not think it is a very wearable color, but used in moderation it can look quite lovely.

I was slightly concerned with the shimmer falling out, but there was no fallout and it didn’t irritate my eyes at all. I can easily wear it with a neutral eye as the highlight of the look. Here you can see how that comes out. ¬†As you can see, on the skin the color is true to the container.

The color stays on all day. Unfortunately sometimes, due to my hooded eyes, the color does transfer to my lids. It glides on without tugging. Overall it is quite nice, and I would not hesitate to buy more Urban Decay 24/7 pencils.

Would I buy this again? Yes absolutely.

Will I finish the sample? Yep! it is an awesome color.

Here’s the breakdown:

Sample Size:  0.03 oz
Full Size:  0.04 oz
Full Size Price: $19.00
Sample Value: $14.25

Today I bring you Urban Decay’s 24/7 eyeliner in Perversion. ¬†I do not normally like liquid liners so I don’t buy them, but this came in my Book of Shadows IV that I reviewed the other day, so I figured I may as well try it out! ¬†This liner comes in 11 different colors. Perversion is ¬†a gloss black color.

And the verdict is?

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Book of Shadows IV (shadows) Review February 28, 2012

I was on Hautelook last month and they had Urban Decay as one of their features. I’ve been wanting the Book of Shadows for awhile – some of the colors looked amazing – and seeing it on Hautelook for only $29.00 I knew I had to grab it. ¬†I am glad I did. I am also glad that I didn’t spend all $56 of the original price for this palette (not that it isn’t worth it, but I got it for almost half price).

This palette is large – we are talking book sized – so there is no question in my mind why it is called the Book of Shadows. ¬†Some people have reviewed it and said it was gimmicky. ¬†Ok so yeh, I don’t need a mini speaker to use makeup – but there are 16 0.03 oz shadows (full size shadows are 0.05 oz and run for $17.00 each). ¬†Most of the shadows are the typical Urban Decay formulas that are very highly pigmented and smooth and luxurious. Two of them Gunmetal and Gravity are not as pigmented as I am used to from Urban Decay.

Naked 2 by Urban Decay February 6, 2012

Naked 2 has been heralded as the most anticipated sequel in the makeup world. ¬†At first I thought “what’s the hype all about?” but then I saw it in person at Sephora and I understood. There are some great colors in it that I don’t already have – yes there are some I already have from the Naked 1 palette and the 15th Anniversary palette but overall, for me, this is a mostly new set of colors. ¬†Even though there only seems to be so many different looks you can do with neutral colors, there is really a much more diverse set of looks than you would expect.

As with the Naked 1 palette there are shimmers (Booty call, chopper, suspect, pistol, verve, busted), glitters (half baked, snake bite, ydk)  and mattes (foxy, tease, blackout).  This palette is a plastic tray resting inside a metal case, which certainly seems like an upgrade. when I bought this it came with a double-sided  Urban Decay Karma  brush which is a completely different size than the one from the first palette. It also came with a lip gloss which I will talk about in a future post.

I know I am the last kid to class on getting my Naked 1 palette up on my blog – but I was saving it until I could do it right. I had more spare time than usual so I got out the good camera and busted out lightroom. ¬†I’m sure glad I did because if I didn’t there is no way I could have gotten the colors as close as I did (which isn’t perfect even with all the extra care).

Lots of people love their Naked palette, and there is no real question why Рthe colors are great and the formulas are typical of Urban Decay. Each of the 12 colors are 0.05 oz which is the size of the individually sold shadow singles that retail for $17.00 each.  They are each housed inside of a velvet covered cardboard case.  The palette, when I got it, came with one of the Urban Decay Karma brushes and a sample size of the primer potion.

Inside is a medium sized mirror and all of the colors.  You can do anything from a super neutral eye all the way to a very glam smokey eye.  There are all different types of finishes too. There are some matte, some pearl/shimmer, and a couple heavy glitter shadows.

Happy Halloween – Peacock October 31, 2011

Happy Halloween Everyone!

I’ve always loved Halloween. It was my grandfather’s birthday so that made it even more special growing up.

Here is what I wore to the Halloween party I went to on Friday night. I saw these peacock feather false lashes on eBay and knew I just had to have them for Halloween. Then, even better, had a sale on their cream shadows ($3.00 each!) so I hauled a few colors figuring something meant for my eyes would be more gentle than face paint.

We were a little crunched on time trying to figure out a costume for the fiance, so I only had 30 minutes to get ready (instead of the 2 hours I’d wanted) but all in all I think it came out good enough.¬† You can sorta tell it is a peacock walking on the grass.

On a side note, I’ve upgraded my blog here at wordpress to have a stand-alone web address, what you have always clicked on will still work – it will just re-direct you to my new domain – . Along with that I will have more functionality including special email addresses that match my domain, so now you can email me at .

I just got my wedding dress on Saturday and have been adding beads to it and am 13.5 out of 20 inches through my necklace I’m making.¬† I have 11 days to go and soooooo much to do! However, tonight I’m just hanging out and giving dentists a profitable 2012 (giving out candy).

What are Boo you doing for Halloween this year?

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette – another look August 21, 2011

15 days ago I received my Urban Decay 15th Anniversary palette. ¬†I reviewed that here. I still absolutely love that palette. ¬†Unfortunately it is a very large palette so it is not easy to tote around – those shadows need to be used at home and nearly planned. Its unfortunate because I think it is probably my favorite palette. Anyway, I had some extra time the other day and wanted to play with my beautiful toy. ¬†I realized that I’d never thought I would be able to use Junkshow – the hot pink one in the middle. ¬†I decided to dare myself to figure out a look with that one. ¬†I decided to start with Chase. On my skin it comes up as a lustrous gold color. I put it all over. Then I decided upon Evidence, the highly pigmented super saturated dark-wash denim color. I used that on my eyelid and just under my eye. This was already outside my comfort zone and I still had to add HOT PINK. ¬†Ok, I calmed myself down and decided that I would use Junkshow in the crease. ¬†I tried that and voila – it actually looked decent. I did just a minimal amount of blending then added some Vanilla at my brow bone and inner eye for good measure. ¬†I topped the whole thing off with my jet black cream eyeliner and 2 coats of Dior waterproof mascara. I think it kinda looks like an upside-down sunset. I think it is super pretty. This photo just doesn’t do it justice!

How would you use junkshow?

Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette Review August 6, 2011

Yay!!!!! I spent at least two weeks stalking Urban Decay, Ulta, and Sephora since I learned of the release of Urban Decay’s 15 year anniversary eyeshadow palette. These colors were simply craveable.¬† Finally last week it was available at Sephora. I bought it right away (and got a dr. jart+ beauty balm as a premium sample!).¬† Yesterday it arrived on my front porch. Yay. So what did I do? Tried to restrain my excitement. After opening the box and getting rid of all of Sephora’s careful packing I came to the case. It is about 6 inches by 6 inches and a gunmetal chrome color. Along the edge is a pretty floral vine design.

After opening the case I was confronted with 15 (get it 15 year anniversary?) full sized shadows of 0.05 oz each which totals 0.75 oz.  All of these are shimmery except for the one matte Рblackout. Midnight rodeo and Midnight 15 are both shadows that contain glitter. The remaining 12 are all simple shimmers. To me Рand no ones photos do these colors justice including mine Рthe entire center column is almost irridescent.  In my opinion every color is super wearable except perhaps junkshow.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo Palette review July 27, 2011

Even though it is Wednesday for everyone else it is my Monday.¬† I’m done with my trip to St. Louis. It was fun but too hot!!!! I don’t know how people can bear that heat. I live in Seattle, so 85 is sweltering – 105 feels like an inferno – a humid inferno. Luckily I had used my urban decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion so my makeup stayed nice all day long – at least on my eyes.

Today I’ll review the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo Palette. I got this palette the first time I ever went to Sephora. I never really wore bright colors but this one was just so amazing I had to try the colors.

The palette is a nice black box with an amazing foil and velvet design on the front. Upon opening it you will find a generous sized mirror and 10 0.03 oz shadows (their full-sized shadows are 0.05 oz) It also comes with a sponge brush, which as usual instantly went into the garbage.
