A site about feeling beautiful

First and foremost I want to say hello to and thank my new subscribers. Also to you old timers who have been with me since the beginning – I truly appreciate your patronage. Today I just achieved an all time high page visit number – I literally squeeled with delight – I love you guys!  I hope to continue to be able to provide you with fun new content frequently – and I hope I am able to continue providing said content without forcing you to watch ads and banners throughout the site.

I have made some minor changes to the site recently – since I have started to receive some items to review that I have not paid for myself, I realized it was time to really write up a disclosure statement and put one in each post that lists a product – unless it is really obvious that there is no way anyone donated a product like in my Not your mom’s tuna surprise. You can find my discloure statement by navigating in the “About” menu or just click this link: Disclosure Statement

From this addition of disclosure statements to EVERY post I have realized I have come a long way in such a short time – some of those original posts were pretty painful – not that they are perfect now – I will never equal someone like Temptalia purely because this is a hobby, I earn no money though advertising, and I have another full time job which is fairly demanding. The idea of going in and taking/editing thousands of photos like she does just doesn’t sound fun to me. However I will continue to try to improve my blog and provide better posts within reason.

I have also added another two menu items, one for the ASK Nail Challenge, and the other for all of the sample services I subscribe to or receive.

I want to always be as honest as possible with you and will always tell you whether I purchased the product or if it was given to me for review. I will not accept payment to write a reviewe, nor will I ever guarintee a positive review.  If I am sent a product to review, however, I will review it – even if I dislike it.

If you ever have any questions please email me and let me know or send me a tweet. I’m here for you because I want to provide fun information with you.

Thank you for your continued loyalty – Looking forward to writing my next post for you!

The Soap Box Initial Impressions

Some of you may have heard of Fortune Cookie Soap. I learned about them last year from Leesha’s XSparkage page. I never did try them though. Even though I had heard amazing things about them from Leesha and others, I still didn’t know if I’d like them.  Then along comes a post that informs me that Fortune Cookie Soap is opening up a subscription program where four times each year you get a sampling of different products from their upcoming line. Well heck – now I can get lots of products and see what I like! So I stalked their page the day of the release and I was one of the first 100 people to sign up and my box came in on Monday! (Super fast, I ordered on the 29th)  So here is what I got – and I will have more photos and descriptions in upcoming days.

The March 2012 Spring Soap Box includes:
* $10 Fortune Cookie Soap Gift Code (via email) <– already spent this on two soaps!
* 1oz. Whipped Cream in Hawaiian Ice
* 1oz. Body Wash in Wake Me Up Before You Mango
* 1oz. Voted Best Ever (By Us) Lotion in Granny Panties
* Mini Gelato in Yellow Polka Dot Bikini
* 2oz. Milk Bath packet in Sweet Tart Martini
* 1 Fortune Cookie Soap in Spring Break in Cancun
* 1oz. Hand Sanitizer in Justin’s HARD Lemonade
* 2oz. Bubbling Bath Crystals packet in Berried Treasure

Unfortunately my gelato tried to die as you can see from this photo – but most of it survived – the bigest annoyance with it was how it had stuck to all the other products.

I am super excited to try most of these out – although I don’t really do bath time – so I may give the crystals and bath milk to a friend to try.

The kit came out really fast and I liked how fun and bright everything was. It all smelled a bit strong at first – might have been better to have the loose items like the soap and the gellato in shrink wrap.  Overall I’m quite satisfied for the $20.00 I spent.

Top Styler from Hautelook – Review

Awhile back Hautelook featured “Top Styler” which is a hair curling system. The system is different from the normal curling implements you are used to (curling irons, curling wands, flat irons…) These are little clam shell clips that get heated up. What you do is wrap your hair around your finger (you can use two or three fingers for looser curls/waves) and then place the pre-heated clamshell over your little bit of hair. You can then let the clamshell cool while it is on your hair – leave it for as long as you like – the longer you leave it the more intense the curl.

When I go to curl my hair it usually takes a good hour or so – and some very sore arms from holding tools and contorting myself – I honestly don’t know how some women do it.

This tool makes it possible for me to have awesome curly or wavey locks in less time. The first time I used this it took me about 20 minutes to put all my curls in the clamshells. Now, most of the time I am going for body and wavey hair – and that takes fewer clam shells – so I am now only spending about 6-8 minutes putting the curls in, and then 1 minute taking them out after completing my makeup.
