Ok, so I know that I am not the most read blogger out there. I also know that I have not been in blogging OR the beauty world for very long compared to others. Lately people have really been pushing my buttons.  Skip this entry if you don’t want to see me rant. Read it if you want to know what to avoid if you want people to continue taking you seriously.  Some things that have seemed to happen a lot lately are:

Peel away – Freeman Feeling Beautiful Cucumber Peel Off Mask Review

One of the items I received from MyGlam was the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Cucumber Peel Off Mask. In my post about the January MyGlam bag I mentioned that I would review it later. Well, here we are 1 day later and I’ve used it!

How did I like it?  As you remember I tried the Montagne Jeunesse Passion Peel off Mask and didn’t really love it in the end. After about an hour my skin didn’t feel any better than it had before the mask.

This one was different.  I used the mask as instructed, starting with a clean face, then applying it evenly over my  whole face avoiding my eyes, nostrals, and mouth.  After the low end time (5 mins) my mask was still not set so I waited for the upper limit (10mins) I got half way through removing the peel and found that I still had some wet spots.  That was a disappointment – but I really like what I saw.

.

Here is a photo of me waiting for it to dry, and the second photo is of me peeling off the mask.

My skin felt super soft and fresh immediately after using it, and the next morning my skin still felt more conditioned and happier. At a $4.00 price point this is definitely something I would recommend. Some people have reported having extra break outs as a result of using it, so as with any product, you may want to swatch the product somewhere inconspicuous just in case you have a reaction.

I would not hesitate to pick another of these up again.

What is your favorite Mask?

I just got the second MyGlam bag; the January bag called “back to nature”.  It took forever due to the storm we had in WA. Anyway I was excited to finally get the bag.  What came in it?

  • Freeman Feeling Beautiful Cucumber Peel Off Mask
  • Sheer Cover Concealer in Light/Medium
  • The Balm Hot Ticket nail polish in “Sky Blue Right Past You”
  • Wen Conditioning Cleanser in Sweet Almond Mint
  • Coupons for each of the products
  • A cute makeup bag for travel

I haven’t tried the peel off mask yet, but I will probably devote an entire post to it. They sent a full size which is 6 oz and retails for $4.00.  It smells good and I can’t wait to try it.

Next is the Sheer Cover Concealer in Light/Medium. This is a full size item. It retails for $29.00. I will do a review on it later too, but I fear that it is too dark for me, especially the “Medium” side.

MyFace Cosmetics Blingtone Eyeshadow in Sp”ice”y Review

This is the conclusion of the 6 part series of my new Beauty Army Kit where I review each of my new samples and their relative value.

Today I’m going to share my opinion of the MyFace Cosmetics Blingtone Eyeshadow in Sp”ice”y. I picked this as one of my 6 samples (out of my nine options) from the new Beauty Sample Kit, Beauty Army. This was the item I was most excited about – I love makeup (skincare is great, but not as fun!). So, how did this sample compare?

Lets start with the packaging. it was a clear plastic case. I’ve heard of other people who had theirs end up with the shadow broken, but mine stayed nice and intact. The packaging is not all that amazing, but it is good enough for its purpose. Now lets compare similar priced product’s packaging, Urban decay has the cute Subway Token, Too Faced has the cute flowers, The Balm has cute tins, and Lancome has the slider tops, this product’s packaging is ok, but not up to those standards.

What about the important part, the product?

Lift Lab Lift & Firm™ Eye Cream Review January 21, 2012

This is the next segment of my 6 part series of my new Beauty Army Kit where I review each of my new samples and their respective value.

Today I’m going to share my opinion of the Lift Lab Lift & Firm™ Eye Cream. I picked this as one of my 6 samples (out of my nine options) from the new Beauty Sample Kit, Beauty Army.

Lift Lab claims “this intensive LIFT & FIRM Eye Cream redefines eye area to visibly firm and reduce the appearance of crow’s feet, deep wrinkles, dark circles, puffiness and sagginess”

I have been seeing teeny tiny fine lines near my eyes developing over the last 6 months *cry*. Since then I started using Skyn. It has definitely halted any more from appearing. BUT THIS!!!! Where did they go!? Seriously, I wish I had taken before and after photos but I wasn’t expecting to really see any changes. I lost some of the lines – not all but they are definitely reduced in number and size. It also soothed and reduced the puffiness under my eyes.

Okay, enough raving. this mint green cream is fairly viscous but feels really rich too.

I am going to finish this entire sample! I don’t know if I can really afford the full size product at $95.00 but I am seriously considering it – it was amazing.

This was my biggest surprise sample of the whole lot!

CellCeuticals NeoCell Review January 20, 2012

I am continuing my 6 part series of my new Beauty Army Kit where I review each of my new samples and their respective value.

Today I’m going to share my opinion of the CellCeuticals NeoCell face scrub. I picked this as one of my 6 samples (out of my nine options) from the new Beauty Sample Kit, Beauty Army.

CellCeuticals claims “Neo-Cell Micro-Resurfacing Skin Treatment uses natural enzymes and volcanic micro-minerals to gently resurface skin without irritation, revealing smoother, more radiant, and healthier-looking skin. Natural enzymes and volcanic-minerals work together to exfoliate surface skin cells without irritation.”

Basically what that means is that it is a mechanical exfoliator that have a little bit of a chemical exfoliator. This cream is thick with sharp little grits. It has no real smell.

I’ve got to say that of all the samples I got this was my least favorite. The grit in it was a little too sharp for me. I didn’t notice it doing any better of a job than my Derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub that costs $15.00 less and while it is a mechanical exfoliator, it doesn’t hurt and feel like it is damaging my skin. I’m not going to be finishing this sample.

Exfoliators are a very personal choice, some people like more gritty ones than others, just like some women like Chanel No. 5 and other women JOY by Jean Patou. Its not that one is really better than another (they are time tested), but they are different. As a result I wouldn’t be adverse to trying a different product from this company but I am going to stop using this particular product.

I’m still glad I had the opportunity to try something new!

Beauty Army cost/month $12.00

Sample Size: 0.33 oz
Full Size Size: 2.0 oz
